Description
I took this shot one autumn day when I visited Oplenac, a hill in Topola, a small town in the heart of Serbia. Oplenac is known for the famous vineyards of the royal dynasty Karadjordjevic as well as for the church of St. George, so it is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Serbia. The whole complex is surrounded by vineyards and forests. I came across this old white marble fountain while I was walking through the forest which surrounds the church. It was November and the first signs of autumn could be seen. There were fallen yellow and red leaves on the ground but the branches on some trees were still green as we see in the distance. Next to the one larger tree stood this old fountain with clear cold mountain water that invigorates thirsty visitors. I drank some water, took a shot, and continued my way.
One November day. Oplenac, Topola, Serbia.
