On the hills of Sumadija on the edge of the town of Velika Plana near the border with Smederevska Palanka in Central Serbia, there is the Koporin Monastery with the Church of St. Stephen, an Orthodox monastery belonging to the Diocese of Branichevo of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The monastery is the endowment of Despot Stefan Lazarević, the son of Prince Lazar. The vineyard and winery are part of the Koporin monastery, and the vineyard itself was planted in 2011 and covers 4 hectares.
From all sides, there is an enchanting view of Momajska slope, the monastery and the outlines of Sumadija. On the hills of Sumadija, on the edges where the Koporin is placed, the cult of the vine has been nurtured for centuries, so it is just above the monastery walls, in the place where vineyards used to be, in 2011 the bishop built a new vineyard on four hectares, and later three more hectares.
