This photo was taken one beautiful may day when I visited the Koporin monastery in Serbia. Among many other things worth photographing in this place, I also liked this scene. Everything here is beautifully arranged thanks to the diligent hands of the nuns. This is the entrance to one of the many accompanying buildings of the Koporin monastery viewed from the side.
In Sumadija, in the heart of Serbia, on the edge of Velika Plana near the border with Smederevski Palanka, there is the Koporin Monastery with the Church of St. Stephen, an Orthodox monastery belonging to the Diocese of Braničevo's Serbian Orthodox Church. The Koporin Monastery was built by Despot Stefan Lazarevic, son of Prince Lazar, as a sign of gratitude to God for leaving him alive in the battle of Angora in 1402, as well as the return of his sister Olivera, a "pledge of peace" and handed over to the Turkish Sultan after the Battle of Kosovo.
